ANYONE who did not believe that the European Question is the defining attribute of politics in these islands is in no doubt after Sunday. Different people come to independence for different reasons. I’ve always been motivated by the difference Scotland could make in the world, and the difference we could make to the lives of Scots by taking control over our own lives and making decisions here.

This week there was even more confirmation that the Trans Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) really is at death's door. On Monday the Commission conceded that it had still to successfully negotiate even one of the proposed twenty four chapters of TTIP (mentioned at 1 min 50 secs):

The whole point to independence is that we will not emulate the UK in how we work in the world. We will inherit an embarrassment of riches other countries would give their eye teeth for. English speaking, in the “middle” time zone to reach around the world, with a historical link to the Commonwealth, as well as deeper links to the European continent, Scandinavia and Russia.
