MEP Hopes He Won't Be A Bogie At The Open
Mr Smith, who starts his summer work experience tour at the Open Championship will be working with people from Visit Scotland promoting tourism at the event and may even find himself a job in the club house.
Speaking as he headed to the Parliament's final session before the summer break Mr Smith said:
"The minute we get out of the Parliament I go to work across Scotland.
"To be working at the Open is a real thrill. Tourism and events like the Open Championship are important to Scotland and the Open is an opportunity to showcase Scotland at it's best to people all over the world.
"I'm looking forward to promoting Scotland with the Visit Scotland staff, to meeting the crowd at the Open and hopefully to doing a bit of work in the Club House with the golfers.
"If Colin Montgomerie still needs a caddie I'd be happy to help. Thoughhe'd probably do better without me."
Mr Smith will be at the Open on Thursday 19th July, the first day of his work experience.
