MEP Gets up to Some Fishy Business in Wester Ross
The day has been set up by the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation.
Speaking ahead of his visit Mr Smith said;"Over the last couple of years working my way around Scotland in thesummer has been one of the best experiences I've had.
"This year I'm heading to Wester Ross for my first work experience at afish farm to work with Scottish Seafarm at Kishorn.
"I've been told I'll be doing fish husbandry so I'm looking forward to discovering what that entails.
"As an MEP I know that a lot of EU legislation affects fish farming andthat, particularly in the salmon industry people have concerns about arange of issues from environmental controls to the impact of the Norwegian producers on Scottish prices.
"I'm expecting to learn a lot on my day there and to have a fair fewissues to raise when I get back to the Parliament in September."
